The Yugoslav Black Wave cinema of the sixties and the seventies is one of the grand, though hidden, chapters of cinema history, so outstanding by its social and political engagement, its formal invention and its courage.
It could be seen as a political gesture, or political image. The fist, a symbol of protest. The two hands on either side framing, imprisoning the “you”. But all three are “you”. Or is it someone struggling with his inner self. Divided within. Fighting inside.
